ONE to show all Arsenal and Liverpool matches

Well, this news certainly came as a surprise to me: ONE will be showing English Football this year, but only matches involving Liverpool and Arsenal. Hopefully, in time, this coverage will expand to at least include highlights of the other teams (I can dream, can’t I?).

A 3 hour programme featuring the two teams matches will air Tuesday and Thursday each week with the Tuesday show at 22:00 and Thursday in the morning or afternoon.

Even more BioShock 2 DLC on the way

Following hot on the heals of the release of The Protector Trials, BioShock 2 will be receiving a more story driven DLC experience later this year (northern Autumn) in the form of Minerva’s Den.

According to 2K, "Minerva’s Den is a self-contained narrative experience that puts players in the role of an all-new character who has teamed up with Brigid Tenenbaum to unravel a dictator’s stranglehold on a key district in the distinctive city under the sea."

Sounds promising so far, and it will be nice to see some more story driven scenarios after the strictly story-free play of The Protector Trials – which I enjoyed, but it was a bit of shame to have the focus only on the various challenges rather than on any overarching storyline.

Sydney Start Season Against Victory

Sydney’s first game of Season 6 of the A-League kicks off in under 6 hours, when the Boys in Blue meet the terror tards from the south, the Melbourne Victory. Should be a top match, first meeting between the two since the dramatic penalty goal decided Grand Final that concluded the last season.

Victory have Thompson and Hernandez missing, which will dent their attack somewhat (read: almost completely) while Sydney – as a nice change – have no injury concerns and have all hands on deck for this one, including new lads Reddy, Carle and Jamieson.

Can’t wait for this one, currently counting down the minutes until heading out to the ground. FTT!

A-League Season 6 Kicks Off Tonight

Season 6 of the Hyundai A-League begins tonight with new boys the Melbourne Heart at home to Central Coast Mariners. The addition of the new side means that everyone now plays 30 games over the course of the season: more football for everyone, always a good thing.

Sydney’s title defense gets under way on Saturday night when the boys in blue host the Melbourne Victory at the SFS. Should be an absolute cracker and, for once, Sydney have no injury concerns to at all (touch wood).

Site Back Up and Running

Pleased to say the site is back up and running after a week or so of downtime – quite a shock to the system to have no Internet access for that length of time. All’s well that ends well, I guess.

Sydney Festival of Football – Day 1

AEK 5-3 Sydney FC

Rangers FC 2-1 Blackburn Rovers

The Sydney Festival of Football kicked off yesterday afternoon, pitting Sydney against AEK and then Rangers against Blackburn Rovers. In the first match, Sydney tried hard but AEK outshone the local boys 5-3, with some sloppy defense being punished. Not a bad hit-out against quality opposition though; hopefully the lessons learned will help Sydney through the A-League season. Second match saw Rangers down Rovers 2-1, but the result was overshadowed a bit by the obnoxious behavior of the Rangers supporters group, with several drunken fools being escorted out of the ground by police after attempting to start trouble with the Cove.

The crowd was a bit disappointing, with the official attendance only around the 14k mark, but there certainly was plenty of color with all four teams represented. Hopefully the numbers pick up for the next two days of the tournament, Sydney needs to come out and support its own.

The festival continues on Wednesday night with Blackburn playing AEK followed by Sydney up against Rangers.

The standings after day one look like this (3 points/win, 1 point/draw, 1 point/goal):

Atelier Rorona Official Site Launched

NIS America have launched the Official Site for the upcoming English language release of Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland.

The latest in the long-running Alchemy themed series, the title will launch this (Northern) Autumn.
