A-League Season 4 – Round 3 Preview

I didn’t end up posting a preview of round 2 (due to a shocking cold) but did manage 2/4 in the online tipping comp I do. So, er, yay. Anyway, on with round 3…

Newcastle Jets @ Melbourne Victory

I feel this could be an interesting match, and almost certainly closer than the odds indicate. Melbourne still look too strong at home though, and tonight welcome back ‘keeper Theoklitos and forward Archie Thompson.

Wellington Phoenix @ Adelaide United

Can’t think of anything to say about this one, Adelaide far too strong.

Perth Glory @ Sydney FC

I had this penciled in as a bit of a snooze-a-thon, but Sydney’s strong form against the Mariners last week coupled with Perth’s 3-3 draw at home to the Jets has given me high hopes of a very entertaining match. Sydney should have too much power for the Glory but will need to improve defensively to take the points.

Central Coast Mariners @ Queensland Roar

Queensland will be desperate for a win at home to give their supporters something to cheer. The Mariners will be equally keen for a victory after their late loss last start to a 10 man Sydney. I tip this one to be an entertaining draw. Bosnich will make his regular season debut for the Coast between the sticks.
