Last home game of the season for Sydney

After a near interminable wait between the first and second legs of the major semi final, it’s a nice change to have only six days between matches in the lead-up to the preliminary final. Saturday night represents the last time Sydneysiders will be able to see their team at home this season, with the winner going on to play Melbourne the following weekend in the Grand Final. For the loser, the off-season comes a week earlier than they would have liked. I’m hopeful of seeing a big crowd to farewell the boys in blue either way, but the pessimist inside me suggests we’ll be lucky to see anything north of 20,000 on the night. Whatever the case, I’m looking forward to standing and singing in the cove for one more game at least – if the boys do get the win, I don’t know if I’ll be able to resist the temptation to break the bank and head down to Melbourne for the big one.
